Oscar-nominated Terrence Howard is joining the cast of the new NBC drama and will rotate with co-star Alfred Molina as deputy district attorney, series creator Dick Wolf told the Television Critics Association on Friday.
“That’s business. That’s life. Everything on TV is born under a death sentence. They just don’t tell you the execution date,” Wolf said,Iceberg, adding that the show had a great run.
Also joining the cast is Corey Stoll, who will play a police detective. Stoll appears in the new Angelina Jolie film “Salt” and guest-starred in the original “Law & Order.”
“I feel like manager of the 1961 Yankees. I have my Mantle and Maris,” Wolf said, referring to famed sluggers Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris.

Asked if money had been the dealbreaker in renewal talks with NBC, Wolf retorted, “You can’t believe we’re going to discuss negotiations.”
Wolf was circumspect about the demise of the original “Law & Order” series, which was canceled by NBC after a 20-year run that tied the record set by “Gunsmoke” but lost the chance to break it.
NBC is owned by General Electric Co.
“There’s so many factors that entered into the network’s decision. … In the 25 years I’ve been continuously on the air at NBC, we’ve never failed to make a deal when there was a deal to be made,NFL Jerseys,” he said.
Howard, an Oscar nominee for “Hustle & Flow,” also has appeared in the films “Iron Man,” “Crash” and “Ray.”

Wahlberg first gained fame in the early 1990s, recording with the hip-hop group Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch.
The “Bourne” films star Matt Damon, not Wahlberg.
His other movie credits include “Four Brothers,” “Three Kings,” “The Perfect Storm,” “The Italian Job,” “Invincible,G-Star,” “The Basketball Diaries,” “Fear,” “Shooter,” “Max Payne,” “The Lovely Bones,” “Planet of the Apes,” “The Happening,” “We Own the Night” and “Date Night.”
That was followed by a ubiquitous ad campaign featuring him in Calvin Klein underwear.
“I’m so happy my kids are sitting through this,” Wahlberg said. “When I heard I was getting this star, I felt like it was a practical joke.”
Will Ferrell, who stars with Wahlberg in the action-comedy “The Other Guys” being released next week, was on hand for the ceremony. The comedian got in a couple of digs.
Wahlberg has also added a behind-the-scenes role to his resume: He’s an executive producer of the HBO series “Entourage,” “In Treatment,” “How to Make It In America” and “Boardwalk Empire.”
He then turned to acting and got attention with his breakout role as Dirk Diggler in 1997’s “Boogie Nights.” Wahlberg got a supporting actor Academy Award nomination in 2006 for “The Departed.”
“I’m glad to be here,Crystal Rock,” Ferrell said. “I first became a fan of Mark’s when I bought his workout video. And I love all your ‘Bourne’ movies.”
LOS ANGELES – Rapper-turned-underwear model-turned-Oscar-nominated actor Mark Wahlberg has been enshrined in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The 39-year-old actor was presented with a star Thursday on Hollywood Boulevard’s famed sidewalk monument.
His wife and four young children were on hand for the sidewalk ceremony.

Apple unveiled its “iPhone 4 Case Program” early Friday. The free app lets you pick a case that will cover the phone’s steel antenna band and — hopefully — ease any “death grip” problems.
Once you install the app and sign in with your Apple ID, you’ll get a choice of eight cases, including an Apple Bumper (only in black, unfortunately) and a selection of third-party cases, such as Incase’s Snap Case (in “smoke” and “clear”), the Belkin Shield Micra, the Griffin Motif (in “diamond” and smoke) and Reveal Etch (black and black graphite), and Speck’s Fitted Case and PixelSkinHD.
Ordering a case is a simple matter of clicking the “select” button in the app. But for all of the cases, the wait time is three to five weeks — meaning iPhone 4 owners suffering antenna-related reception problems might have to deal with iffy call quality for another month or so.
For those who already bought one of Apple’s Bumper cases with a credit card, expect to see a full refund (yes, including taxes and shipping) on your next statement, Apple promised.
If you paid for your Bumper with cash, a check,Ralph Lauren, or a gift card, you’ll have to take your receipt to an Apple store to get your refund.
Jobs promised every iPhone 4 owner a free case after the uproar over the iPhone’s “death grip” (the weakened signal that sometimes results if you touch a small gap on the lower left corner of the handset’s steel rim).
During last week’s news conference, Jobs insisted that the iPhone 4 isn’t the only smartphone that will lose reception if you hold it near the antenna. But he put forth a “pet theory” that the scarcity of immediately available cases could explain why so many customers were complaining about reception problems.
During its earnings call Tuesday, Apple execs estimated that the company’s case giveaway could end up costing a cool $175 million.
